Fire Detection Technology

In 2004 I began to develop a design definition of a fire detection and suppression system.  With the help of an amazing friend and electronic wizard, we designed a very comprehensive fire detection system that aimed at the motorhome market.  The unit monitored temperature transducers placed in the engine and generator compartments and was capable of triggering many functions based on the detection of a fire.  The following manual describes the system:

FD-400 Manual version 1.0

We created a company to market the unit:  RV Safety Systems.  At the time, the motorhome market was still very active at various rallies – the biggest being the FMCA events.  We were vendors at many of the show.  In 2008 the economy went to heck and attendance at the shows really nosedived.  We held on as long as we could, but in 2012 we closed the business.  Towards the end, we began to explore other markets, but we did not have the resources to continue.  We still have all of the design and manufacturing  files that would permit a company to build and market the unit.

We also developed a specialized system for a major trash hauling business that wanted to address frequent fires on their trucks.  They had some rather complex requirements that involved the use of Halon followed (with a time delay) by a surfactant system.  We met all of their criteria, but unfortunately our marketing pardner passed away shortly after our successful test and the project was not adopted by the company.  We have maintained all of the design and manufacturing details from this project

We would be interested in discussing business opportunities.
