{"id":99,"date":"2011-09-26T13:43:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T13:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/26\/hello-from-prescott-ia-5\/"},"modified":"2011-09-26T13:43:00","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T13:43:00","slug":"hello-from-prescott-ia-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beltguy.com\/Travelogue\/?p=99","title":{"rendered":"Hello from Prescott, IA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nHello from Prescott, IA.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nMonday Morning   September<br \/>\n26, 2011 (first travelogue of this trip).<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nWe have been in Iowa for<br \/>\nseveral days, but I am just now finding the time to write this blog.<br \/>\nWe left Evergreen on Thursday (9\/15) and spent the night at our old<br \/>\nstandby:  Wal Mart in North Platte, NE.  We arrived here on Friday.<br \/>\nPat&#8217;s brother, Jeff and his wife Julie arrived on Friday as well.  We<br \/>\nare staying at Pat&#8217;s cousin Jeanne and her husband Bill&#8217;s house in<br \/>\nthe bus.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nWe love to visit Iowa any<br \/>\ntime, but especially this time of the year.  The heat of the summer<br \/>\nand the cold of the winter are forgotten for a while and the great<br \/>\nseasons (spring and fall) are fantastic.  The photo below is the view<br \/>\nwe see out of the bus windshield. Saturday and Sunday we did quite a bit of visiting<br \/>\nwith relatives.  Sunday we celebrated Pat&#8217;s aunt Jaris&#8217; birthday at<br \/>\nthe nursing home.  We got to visit with a large number of friends and<br \/>\nrelatives.  Jaris had a ball.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nOn Monday we took a great<br \/>\ntour of the area including visiting some of the bridges of Madison<br \/>\nCounty (see photo).  This is scenery was wonderful and it was a great<br \/>\nday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-ehFqqxlv95A\/ToCBSmLt1wI\/AAAAAAAAAaw\/ZBHj3CFpERk\/s1600\/Madison+Bridge.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"240\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-ehFqqxlv95A\/ToCBSmLt1wI\/AAAAAAAAAaw\/ZBHj3CFpERk\/s320\/Madison+Bridge.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: center;\">\nOne of the Bridges of Madison County<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nThe weather here has been<br \/>\nvery cool.  Indeed, it is generally cooler than Evergreen.  Most of<br \/>\nthe nights have gotten into the lower 40s and it has been as low as<br \/>\n37 one evening.  We even put an extra cover on the bed to stay warm.<br \/>\nThat said, the days have been comfortable most of the time.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nPat has been working on<br \/>\nGenealogy with Jeanne.  We have visited several cemeteries to find<br \/>\ngrave stones of some of her ancestors.  We again visited the house<br \/>\nwhere her dad was born.  The people who live there are very welcoming<br \/>\nand they both have fabulous collections of all kinds of things.  The<br \/>\nhouse has been extensively remodeled, but part of the original house<br \/>\nis still evident.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nI have had to spend some<br \/>\ntime getting parts shipped in to fill a nice order.  I have made a<br \/>\nchange to my system and had to have some brackets made here in IA.<br \/>\nFortunately, there is a great manufacturing company in Corning (where<br \/>\nPat was born and about 10 miles from here).  I have had them do some<br \/>\nwork for me in the past, but they outdid themselves this time.  The<br \/>\nbrackets are very nice looking and they did them the same day.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nBill and I have done some<br \/>\nproject work here at the farm (I love to help in any way I can) and I<br \/>\nhave been able to get a few things done on the bus and service truck<br \/>\nthat did not get done before we left.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\nThat is all for now.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from Prescott, IA.
