{"id":68,"date":"2012-10-20T02:42:00","date_gmt":"2012-10-20T02:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/20\/hello-from-lexington-ne\/"},"modified":"2012-10-20T02:42:00","modified_gmt":"2012-10-20T02:42:00","slug":"hello-from-lexington-ne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beltguy.com\/Travelogue\/?p=68","title":{"rendered":"Hello from Lexington, NE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from Lexington, NE<\/p>\n<p>Friday evening&nbsp;&nbsp; October 19, 2012&nbsp;&nbsp; (Sixth travelogue of this trip).<\/p>\n<p>We got a late start today.&nbsp; It was really cold and windy.&nbsp; Of course, it was mostly a head wind out of the north west.&nbsp; Given the conditions, we resigned ourselves to taking three days to get home.&nbsp; However, the weather cleared up a bit and we were able to travel a bit over 300 miles. <\/p>\n<p>We are at the Wal Mart in Lexington, NE <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/?t=h&amp;q=40.74532,-99.74069%28Shepherd%29\">(map)<\/a>.&nbsp; We are a bit short of half way, but we should be able to get an earlier start tomorrow and get home on Saturday, as planned.<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier blog, I had mentioned our amazing fortune of finding the Dickison Cemetery (a bit north and east of Nevada, MO).&nbsp; As I noted, the cemetery is on private property.&nbsp; With permission, we traveled across a farm field and found the somewhat overgrown cemetery.&nbsp; We quickly found Pat&#8217;s grandfather&#8217;s grandparent&#8217;s marker (in good condition, considering the stone was over 142 years old).&nbsp; Below is a picture of the cemetery.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-NBehvCH5Goc\/UIINz4Bj7rI\/AAAAAAAAAdg\/AU4ZP2mDiGc\/s1600\/Dickison+Cemetery+(Medium).JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"215\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-NBehvCH5Goc\/UIINz4Bj7rI\/AAAAAAAAAdg\/AU4ZP2mDiGc\/s320\/Dickison+Cemetery+(Medium).JPG\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nDickison Cemetery<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>I also mentioned the wonderful color in Iowa.&nbsp; Shown below is a tree at Bill and Jeanne&#8217;s house.&nbsp; Shortly after the picture was taken, the storms moved in and the tree lost most of the leaves.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-dIQx8QM0Trw\/UIIOPzAF_5I\/AAAAAAAAAdo\/RxcU6T_EESE\/s1600\/Birts+Tree+(Medium).JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"195\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-dIQx8QM0Trw\/UIIOPzAF_5I\/AAAAAAAAAdo\/RxcU6T_EESE\/s320\/Birts+Tree+(Medium).JPG\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nBeautiful Tree In Prescott, IA<\/div>\n<p>\nThat is all for now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from Lexington, NE Friday evening&nbsp;&nbsp; October 19, 2012&nbsp;&nbsp; (Sixth travelogue of this trip).
