{"id":316,"date":"2015-05-10T03:32:05","date_gmt":"2015-05-10T03:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/?p=316"},"modified":"2015-05-14T21:58:11","modified_gmt":"2015-05-15T03:58:11","slug":"hello-from-gunnison-co-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beltguy.com\/Travelogue\/?p=316","title":{"rendered":"Hello From Gunnison, CO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tSaturday May 9, 2015&nbsp; (First blog of this trip) Friday we left Evergreen and drove to Gunnison &#8212; approximately 160 miles.&nbsp; We are staying at the Quality Inn:<a href=\"http:\/\/nhra.com\"> <\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t{google_map}38.5453,-106.9227{\/google_map}.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWe are here for&nbsp; Thomas Jeute&#39;s (our grandson&#39;s) graduation from Western State Colorado University.&nbsp; He graduated with a petroleum geology degree.&nbsp; Words can not describe how proud we are of his accomplishments!&nbsp; Here is a photo of the graduation ceremony setting:\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/At-the-field.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"At the field\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-327\" height=\"191\" src=\"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/At-the-field-300x191.jpg\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\tThe weather prediction for the ceremony was a bit iffy. &nbsp;They chose to have the ceremony on the field (as opposed to indoors with limited seating). &nbsp;The weather was OK at the 10:00 start, but at a bit before 11:00 it started to snow. &nbsp;It spit off and on during the rest of the ceremony. &nbsp;We had dressed for cold weather, so it was not too bad.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\tAlmost all of the family is here except for grandson Josh (and his dad Dan) who is competing in a major swim meet.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\tThomas has received&nbsp; a paid internship contract with Antero Resources <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anteroresources.com\/\">(link)<\/a>.&nbsp; The paperwork suggests it will be a three month internship.&nbsp; Antero is in downtown Denver and Thomas and friend Rob (also has internship with Antero) will be staying with us for that period.&nbsp; We are very excited to have these great young men stay with us!\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\tThe men are going to cook breakfast for the mothers tomorrow and then we will head home.&nbsp; It is predicted to snow quite a bit, but we brought the Durango, so we should be in good shape.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\tThat is all for now.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday May 9, 2015&nbsp; (First blog of this trip) Friday we left Evergreen and drove to Gunnison &#8212; approximately 160 miles.&nbsp; We are staying at the Quality Inn: {google_map}38.5453,-106.9227{\/google_map}.
