\nWow, I can\u2019t believe that my last post was November 19,
\n2013.  Several of our friends have called
\nto ask if we are OK.  Part of the problem
\nis that we still have not sent out our Christmas Letter!<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nI started a blog on December 13, but never completed or posted
\nit.  Here is what I had written:<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nYes, I am back in Kent.  Indeed, I was also here last week as
\nwell.  Last week, I taught for three days
\nand flew home Wednesday night.  Actually,
\nI got to the house at 1:15 AM Thursday and the temperature was \u2013 21 degrees!!!<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSunday I flew back out and have
\nbeen teaching a 5 day class.  The class
\nis on the second shift and I think I like that better than the first shift
\nwhere I have to get up at 4:00 AM<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe weather here continues to be
\ncold (some frost in the morning) and we have had some heavy rain a few
\ndays.  As I have noted before, the air is
\nvery moist and with a bit of wind, the cold seems much worse than the
\nthermometer would suggest.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nI really don\u2019t know where to start catching up.  Both Pat and I were pretty darn sick for all
\nof December and a couple of weeks before and after.  Mine started out as Whooping Cough and went into
\npneumonia and Pat\u2019s started out as a sinus infection and then pneumonia.  Neither of us remember being that sick for
\nthat long.  When I was teaching the two
\nclasses in December, I kept getting sicker and by the time I got home I was
\ndown and out.  We could barely make it
\nfrom the bedroom to the living room.  Fortunately
\nwe are both doing much better now.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n

\nMy teaching schedule has changed significantly.  I was scheduled to do two classes in both
\nJan. and Feb., but Boeing has halted all training until NTT revises some of the
\nclasses.  I am tentatively scheduled for
\na class in April.  March schedule is
\nunknown.  All thing considered, the
\nchange in schedule has not been all bad. 
\nThe 2013 schedule was way too hectic. 
\nWhile the money is good, the travel is a pain in the tail.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nDuring this hiatus, I have started rebuilding my \u201959 IHC
\ntruck.  I have really enjoyed getting
\nback in the shop doing somewhat creative fabrication.  I also enjoy doing all the \u201cparts research\u201d.  I updated the project page (click here)<\/a> .  The rebuild will be extensive.  The engine will be updated to a large V8 IH
\nengine, a 5 speed truck transmission, a
\nBrownie 4 speed auxiliary gear box, a 36 inch frame stretch and a period-correct sleeper.  This is a typical
\nShepherd project {grin}.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nProbably lots more that I could add to this blog, but at
\nleast you all know that we are alive and doing pretty well.<\/div>\n
