{"id":19,"date":"2014-05-02T01:24:00","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T01:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/02\/hello-from-sacramento\/"},"modified":"2014-05-02T01:24:00","modified_gmt":"2014-05-02T01:24:00","slug":"hello-from-sacramento","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beltguy.com\/Travelogue\/?p=19","title":{"rendered":"Hello from the Sacramento"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nHello from the Sacramento<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nThursday&nbsp;<br \/>\nafternoon,&nbsp; May 1, 2014&nbsp;&nbsp; (One post travelogue)<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nI am in Sacramento doing a couple of training sessions for<br \/>\nNTT.&nbsp; This week it is two days of<br \/>\nMechanical Drives and two days of Vibration Analysis.&nbsp; Mechanical Drives is old hat for me, but<br \/>\nVibration analysis is a new class for NTT.&nbsp;<br \/>\nTo put it nicely, the course was not well developed before it was released.&nbsp; The class is based on a text book, but the<br \/>\nslides were very primitive.&nbsp; I have spent<br \/>\nMANY hours developing new slides that present the data in a better format.&nbsp; Luckily, I am co-teaching with a person who<br \/>\nhas a great deal of experience in the latest technology.&nbsp; <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nMy part of the vibration class was to set the stage for<br \/>\nadvanced discussion by the other instructor.&nbsp;<br \/>\nI did the first three chapters and discussed how we used to do vibration<br \/>\nanalysis on belt drives with very basic tools. &nbsp;Indeed, most of my work was in the late \u201860s<br \/>\nor early \u201870s.&nbsp; To put that in<br \/>\nperspective, personal computers did not become available to the public until<br \/>\nthe mid to late \u201870s!!
