\nFriday Evening,  May
\n30, 2014   (First post of this travelogue)<\/div>\n

\nI am staying at the Candlewood Suites (map)<\/a>.  I have two
\nactivities that brought me here from Prescott, IA.  The first is to attend an amazing Antique
\nTruck Historical Society (link)<\/a>
\nannual convention\/show.  The second
\nactivity was to meet with a person that I am doing some joint work with.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nLet\u2019s step back and catch up with the rest of the trip so
\nfar.  We left Denver on Saturday 5\/24
\nafter attending our granddaughter\u2019s graduation party.  We left from the Thornton area about 4:00 Pm
\nand drove until it started to get dark. 
\nWe parked the bus in a great rest stop in Julesburg, CO.  The next day we drove a bit over 400 miles
\nand arrived in Prescott, IA in the late afternoon.  Our bus is parked in its \u201creserved\u201d spot at
\nthe Birt house.  We spent Memorial Day
\ndecorating graves and attending a special luncheon at the local church.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThursday morning I drove the PT Cruiser to Springfield, MO (about
\n6 hour drive).  I will return to Prescott
\ntomorrow.  The ATHS show (their national
\nconvention) is amazing.  There are hundreds
\nof trucks.  The photo below is not the
\nbest, but it shows a long shot of some of the trucks.  There are all shapes and sizes and
\nyears.  I would guess that about half of
\nthe trucks are semis.  I have been there
\nfor a few hours Thursday and Friday and will go back for a couple of hours
\ntomorrow morning before I start back. <\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThis is my third ATHS national convention.  I have been a member for many years. The
\nnational conventions are almost beyond description.  The owners are very friendly and love to show
\ntheir trucks.  As I said, the variety is
\namazing.  Each time I make a lap around
\nthe huge fairground, I see something new and interesting.<\/div>\n
