{"id":1450,"date":"2021-11-20T10:31:21","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T17:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beltguy.com\/blog\/?p=1450"},"modified":"2021-11-20T10:31:21","modified_gmt":"2021-11-20T17:31:21","slug":"hello-from-lincoln-ne-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beltguy.com\/Travelogue\/?p=1450","title":{"rendered":"Hello from Lincoln, NE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from Lincoln, NE<\/p>\n<p>Thursday Evening \u2013 November 4, 2021\u00a0\u00a0 (ninth post of this travelogue)<\/p>\n<p>Note, for some reason this post did not get uploaded.\u00a0 I am uploading it on 11\/20\/21.\u00a0 There will be at least one more post for this trip.\u00a0 BTW, we made it home on Saturday 11\/6<\/p>\n<p>We are at the Camp A Way campground <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/40%C2%B051'32.4%22N+96%C2%B043'00.1%22W\/@40.8567786,-96.723199,2083m\/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d40.859!4d-96.7167\">(Google Maps)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>{google_map}40.8590, -96.7167{\/google_map}<\/p>\n<p>We arrived here Monday which gave me a day of downtime before I started teaching for the University of Nebraska facilities group (Wednesday and Thursday).\u00a0 This class was our Bearings\u00a0 and Lubrication class.\u00a0 I had a project last year to update the manual and slide presentation and this is the first class that has been taught since that project was completed.<\/p>\n<p>It was a major milestone to reach Lincoln \u201cin one piece\u201d.\u00a0 We have been on the road for over a month and travelled over 3500 miles so far.\u00a0 We have only had some very minor issues and we hope that continues for our last two segments of the trip.<\/p>\n<p>We were concerned about internet connections on this trip, but with only one exception we were able to connect through either our AT&amp;T cellphones or Verizon MiFi.\u00a0 We try to avoid campground wifi systems since the security on these systems can be very suspect.<\/p>\n<p>The weather continues to be cool and moist.\u00a0 The humidity is very high and nothing seems to dry in the camper.\u00a0 I looked at the weather for the two day trip home and it looks to be pretty good.<\/p>\n<p>The class here in Lincoln went well.\u00a0 There were 13 students and that is a fairly large class, but manageable since it is \u201clecture\u201d only.<\/p>\n<p>The Boeing class in PA got off to a rough start.\u00a0 My contract indicated that I would be teaching one class and Boeing expected me to teach another.\u00a0 I had prepared for the class noted on my contract (the same class as the one here in Lincoln) and the change in plans caught me by surprise.\u00a0 Fortunately I had taught the class (two day lubrication class) at Boeing before and had the PowerPoint slides on my computer.\u00a0 The class worked out pretty well.\u00a0 Boeing restricts the class size to 4 students due to Covid distance restrictions.\u00a0 That said there were only two students attending.\u00a0 They were great students and quite understanding of my frustration caused by the mix up.<\/p>\n<p>I still plan to post \u201ctourist\u2019 type details about our stays in Gettysburg and Clarksboro, but that will happen in another post.<\/p>\n<p>More to come<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from Lincoln, NE Thursday Evening \u2013 November 4, 2021\u00a0\u00a0 (ninth post of this travelogue) Note, for some reason this post did not get uploaded.\u00a0 I am uploading it on 11\/20\/21.\u00a0 There will be at least one more post for &hellip;
